: The studies involving human participants were reviewed and approved by Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI)’s Scientific and Ethics Review Unit (SSC Number 2206 – for NSBDP data), and the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Eastern Africa Baraton (UEAB/REC/01/08/2021 – for Granular mapping data). At school, parental or guardian informed consent was obtained based on passive opt-out informed consent rather than written opt-in informed consent due to the routine and low risk nature of the study procedure. Additionally, individual assent was obtained from each child before participation in the study. All data used were anonymised.
