: Participation in the workshop was voluntary, and all participants were healthcare employees who willingly offered their expertise. All participants verbally agreed to engage in the process and were made aware that they could disengage in the process anytime. This workshop, and the participation in it, was conducted as part of a national quality improvement initiative brought forward by Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. In accordance with national regulations from the 2022 Canadian Institutes of Health Research Tri-Council Policy Statement regarding Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans [], since this initiative was a quality improvement study, and was exclusively for improvement purposes, this research does not fall within the scope of a Research Ethics Board review. Therefore, ethics approval and consent to participate was deemed unnecessary according to national regulations, as described in Article 2.5 of the Policy []. Also, according to the Article 2.5 of the Policy [], the activities conducted as part of this initiative do not follow normal consent procedures, and obtaining consent to participate was deemed unnecessary.
