Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study received a positive vote from the Ethics Committee of the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg (ID: S-726/2018) and from the respective state’s Landesärztekammer (state authorisation association for medical issues). The Ethics Committee has given its approval for the conduct of the study. Depending on the state, an additional approval from the respective Landesärztekammer is required for conducting the patient survey. The additional approval has already been obtained for Baden-Württemberg. In Rhineland-Palatinate it is not required for this study and in Saarland it will be obtained as soon as there are sufficient practices participating, enabling us to conduct the patient survey there. All participants will be informed in detail about the study and will only be included in the study voluntarily and, where necessary, after giving informed written consent. The collection and analysis of patients’ questionnaires, cardiologists’ questionnaires and claims data will be anonymous. In these cases, no informed consent is necessary.
