: The pilot evaluation plan was submitted to and reviewed by the Sutter Health Institutional Review Board (SHIRB) and was determined to be a quality improvement project. As the primary purpose of this project was to improve the quality of care, at Sutter, no patient Protected Health Information (PHI) was required to conduct the evaluation, and the researchers were all part of a covered entity (Sutter Health), this project was not considered human subjects research, did not require an IRB review, and did not require patient consent, a HIPPA waiver, or staff survey participant consent. As an added layer of assurance, the evaluation plan was also submitted to the Sutter Health Privacy Officer and was approved.
