Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The Medical Ethics Committee of the VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam reviewed the study protocol and confirmed that the study does not fall under the scope of the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (FWA number IRB00002991). All data that were used in this study were anonymised before use. Therefore, the residents’ consent for participation was not needed.After the approval of the Medical Ethics Committee, the board of directors gave permission to access the electronic patient records in order to perform the study. The information was gathered only by health care professionals working in the LTCF and was anonymized before further processing. All doctors consented in taking part in this study.
