: The local Medical Ethics Review Committee ‘CMO Regio Arnhem-Nijmegen’ (number 2015–1723) assessed the study and stated that it did not require medical ethical approval under the Dutch legislation for medical trials. We confirm that all methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations [CitationRef removed]. All interviewees and the managers of the participating nursing homes provided written informed consent for participation and audio-recording of the interviews and focus group discussions.
