: This research, titled “The Hidden Burden of Anemia in Elderly Surgical Patients: A Prospective Study on Incidence and Contributing Factors,” adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Declaration of Helsinki, ensuring participant protection and integrity. The institutional review board at Debre Tabor University granted ethical approval for the study. All participants provided informed consent after rigorous procedures were implemented to ensure their privacy and voluntary involvement. Participants are free to withdraw at any time without facing penalties.The aim of the study is to enhance preoperative screening and treatment by examining the incidence and contributing factors of anemia in elderly surgical patients. Participation involves answering follow-up questions about recovery and general health, providing medical history, and granting access to relevant clinical data. The study spans from preoperative examination to discharge. Although participants may not directly benefit from the findings, their involvement could contribute to improved detection and treatment of anemia in the future.
