: Ethics approval was granted by the Gemeinsame Ethik-Kommission der Hochschulen Bayerns (GEHBa) (Ethics Committee of the Association of the Bavarian Universities of Applied Sciences) [nr: GEHBa-202211-V-082-R, date: 12/07/2022]. Participants were informed verbally and in writing that participation was voluntary and could be withdrawn at any time without consequences. Written informed consent was obtained before the interviews. Gatekeepers approached only individuals with presumed high emotional stability. Some HPs knew the interviewer from previous studies, as they were part of the cooperative partner network of the nursing department; otherwise, there was no prior relationship. The interviewees knew the interviewer had nursing experience in long-term care and that the study aimed to develop an intervention to improve the transition from home to NH.
