: Ethical approval is not required. TurkStat collects data within the scope of the Official Statistics Program. The Official Statistics Program was prepared for five-year periods based on the Turkish Statistical Institute Law No. 5429 to determine the basic principles and standards for the production and publication of official statistics and to ensure the production of up-to-date, reliable, transparent, and impartial data in areas of national and international need. Individuals included in the sample of surveys conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute are legally obligated to participate in the survey [ ]. Official approval was received from the Turkish Statistical Institute for the use of the microdataset obtained from the Older Persons Profile Survey. The Turkish Statistical Institute also received a “Letter of Commitment” authorizing the use of the survey data. Thus, we obtained these data from TurkStat in accordance with a contract and used them in our study, without requiring an ethics committee document.
