Further, the World Medical Association’s Declaration of Helsinki on ethical principles for medical research involving human subjects [ ] was followed, including the principles for information, consent, voluntariness, and confidentiality [ ]. The recruitment process to identify suitable participants was carried out by healthcare staff at the recruitment facilities. These professionals have extensive experience working with individuals with cognitive impairment and determined that the person interviewed individually possessed the cognitive ability to speak for themselves and to understand the meaning of giving consent to participate in the study. This assessment was also made and confirmed by the interviewer during the interview.
