Ethics approval and consent to participate
: This study is approved by the Santa Casa de Sao Paulo Review Board, which waived the need for informed consent for this facility-based retrospective data collection. Since the bacterial strains are not traceable to their respective patients, but only to case details, such as mechanism of the infection, anatomical site and material infected, obtaining informed consent would be virtually impossible.
: Not applicable.
