Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study was approved by the Busitema University Faculty of Health Sciences Higher Degrees and Research Committee as well as the Mbale Regional Referral Hospital Research and Ethics Committee (Ref No: MRRH-REC OUT-COM 064/2017). Permission to conduct the study was further obtained from the Office of the Prime Minister through the office of the Kiryandongo Refuge Settlement Commandant (Ref No: OPM/KIRY/010). Informed consent was attained based on the WHO guidelines. Parents/guardians whose children participated provided written parental consent while the children assented to participating in the study. Only those children who had both parental consent and their assent participated in the study.
