: The trial protocol has been approved by research ethics committees at the University of Malawi College of Medicine (ref: P.01/18/2332), LSHTM (ref: 14761), and WHO (ref: STAR-comm led CRT-Malawi). The trial is registered with ExternalRef removed (ref: NCT03541382). Informed consent to accept HIVST from community volunteers is waived. Written consent will be obtained for research participants, except participants aged 15–17 years old, who will be asked to assent and their parent or guardian asked to consent.
