Ethics approval and consent to participate
: All examined carbapenem-resistant <i>Klebsiella pneumoniae</i> and carbapenem-sensible <i>Klebsiella pneumoniae</i> isolates were isolated during the routine diagnostics and preserved according to local epidemiological surveillance regulations. Written informed consent for routine diagnostic and medical procedures was collected for each patient.All data used in the study were anonymized, according to the requirements set by Italian Data Protection Code (leg. Decree 196/2003) and by the general authorizations issued by the Data Protection Authority. Approval by the Ethics Committee was obtained by Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Policlinico “P. Giaccone” of Palermo (protocols n°07/2019).
