Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study received ethics approval as part of a research project titled ‘A rapid appraisal of the COVID-19 OHS response by four provinces in South Africa’ (Reference number: 246/2020) from the Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pretoria. The study was conducted in accordance with the principles, norms and standards set out by the South African Department of Health []. The questionnaire was accompanied by a participant information leaflet and informed consent document for anonymous questionnaires. This indicated that participation in the study was voluntary and informed consent was implied by submission of the questionnaire.
