: This study was conducted in concordance with and approved by Departmental Research and Ethics Review Committee (DRERC) of Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences. Written informed consent was obtained from children’s parents or their legal guardians after they have been clearly informed about the study. The children were also informed about their ability to withdraw from this study at any time without jeopardizing their right to receive any services at their school. Invasive procedures such as collection of blood samples were fully explained to parents and children, and were carried out using sterile disposable materials. The study was performed by following the ethical guidelines expressed in the Declaration of Helsinki and the International Conference on Harmonization Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice.
