The POLYMOD data collection was approved by national institutional review boards. As only anonymised open source POLYMOD data were used in this study, an institutional review was not required for reanalysis. HaBIDS was approved by the Ethics Committee of Hannover Medical School (No. 2021–2013), and by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information in Germany and all participants provided written informed consent prior to study entry.
