Ethical approval for the project was obtained from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) Research Ethics Committee (reference 26000). The SU Health Research Ethics Committee approved the protocols for the Teen TB study (N19/10/148) and Umoya study (N17/08/083).
