: This study was conducted as part of the investigation of the cVDPV2 outbreak in South Sudan. During the investigation of cases affected by cVDPV2, the system relied upon and continued the collection of stool samples from AFP cases after informed consent was obtained from the parents or guardian of the children. We the authors declared that all the study processes were conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki on medical research ethics. All protocols of the study were approved by the Research Ethics Review Board (MOH-RERB) at the Ministry of Health Republic of South Sudan.
