: The study employed routine NTLP DR-TB program data without patient participation, but gained administrative authorization to access the data from NTLP. As the study did not utilize any personal identifiable information, obtaining patient consent was unnecessary. Moreover, there were no anticipated risks or advantages to the patients resulting from the examination of this data. Nevertheless, the researchers obtained ethical approval from both the Makerere School of Social Sciences Research and Ethics Committee (REC) with a reference number (MAKSSREC 11.22.610/PRI) and the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology(UNCST) with a reference number HS2653ES.
