: Ethical approval for this study was obtained from the Wachemo University College of Medicine and Health Science IRB (Ref No/WCU/SGS 571/15, Date 24/01/2023 G.C) and delivered to the Hossana Blood Bank Administration. By employing an anonymous data-gathering platform and providing data collectors with training, we can ensure that the information we acquire about respondents remains private. Participants in the study were provide their informed permission after being instructed about information confidentiality. Participants had the option to leave the study at any time if they so desired. The thoughts and decisions of individuals were respected in order to preserve their autonomy. At the end of data collection, those volunteer blood donors who are sero-positive for HBV were informed, counselled and linked for continuum of care at health institution. All the procedures were conducted based on the principles of the Helsinki Declaration.
