Ethical considerations included respecting patient anonymity, obtaining informed consent from the patients’ parents or legal guardians and approval from the hospital’s management. We have obtained a favourable opinion from the Institutional Ethics Committee for Health Research of the Burkina Faso Health Sciences Research Institute. Note No. 2025-L15/MESRI/SG/CNRST/IRSS/CEIRES of the Institutional Ethics Committee for Health Research of the Burkina Faso Health Sciences Research Institute signed on 02 April 2025 on the consideration of ethical considerations in the implementation of the project “Prognostic factors for death in patients hospitalised for malaria in pediatric at the Dori Regional Hospital Centre”.
