: The capture of terrestrial small mammals was carried out in strict compliance with the terms of the research permits issued by the Malagasy authorities (Direction du Système des Aires Protégées, Direction Générale de l’Environnement et des Forêts, and Madagascar National Parks) and in accordance with national laws (permit n#065/24/MEDD/SG/DGGE/DAPRNE/SCBE.Re issued on 4 March 2024). All individuals of terrestrial small mammals were trapped and handled by the certified staff of the Plague Unit (Institut Pasteur de Madagascar) in strict accordance with the guidelines accepted for the handling of wild animals [] and Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament ().
