: This study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethics approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the College of Medicine and Health Science, Bahir Dar University (CMHS-BDU), with protocol number 752/2023. A support letter was also obtained from the BDU student service dean. Then, written informed consent was obtained from each study participant. Confidentiality was maintained by using the code for each participant. Those food handlers confirmed to have Salmonella, Shigella, and/or intestinal parasites were linked to healthcare services.
