: This trial was conducted in compliance with ethical principles stated in the Declaration of Helsinki, ethical approval and consent to participate: ethical clearance was obtained from the Ethical Review Committee of School of Biomedical and Laboratory Science, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Gondar (SBMLS/2778). And support letter was obtained from the Department of Medical Parasitology. Permission was also obtained from the School director and homeroom teacher. Written informed consent was obtained from family or formal caregivers and verbal assents were obtained from the children. The study participant who remains positive after treatment was treated with a single dose of 400 mg albendazole and other study participants who are positive for other intestinal parasitic infections were connected to nearby health institutions for appropriate treatment and management. Information obtained at any course of the study was kept confidential through coding numerically.
