: Ethical clearance was obtained from the Hawassa University College of Medicine and Health Sciences Institutional Review Board (Ref. No.: IRB/199/15) and the study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Before recruiting, written informed consent was obtained from all study participants. The purpose of the study was properly described by the data collectors. During the study, the information of the participant was kept confidential, to ensure confidentiality, the name of the study participant was coded. Results of participants with parasitic infections, malaria, and/or intestinal helminth were sent, as soon as possible, to the antenatal care (ANC) department or were contacted by the physician present in the health facility for treatment.
