: This study was conducted after obtaining ethical approval from the Mekelle University, College of Health Science, School of Pharmacy, Ethical Committee (Approved Number: MU-IRB 2304/2023). Written consent was not necessary from each participant as we did not interview patients. The study involved reviewing prescription papers obtained from pharmacies with in the study hospitals/clinics. A formal letter of request was sent from the School of Pharmacy to the study clinics to obtain permissions. Participants’ prescriptions were reviewed after obtaining permission from the study hospitals/clinics. The study aims, benefits and risks were discussed with the pharmacists. The confidentiality of the data was assured by omitting identifications such as the patient’s name, the health facility’s name and the prescriber’s name. All methods used in this study were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and/or national research committee and with the Declaration of Helsinki.
