: The study was conducted according to the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki and approved by the Institutional Ethic Committee of Fondation Congolaise pour la Recherche Médicale. Each volunteer gave written informed consent before participating in this investigation. For participants under18 years, informed consent to participate was obtained from their legal guardians. All malaria-positive patients were treated by the physician with artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) according to WHO and national malaria control program guidelines.
