: Ethical clearance was obtained from the ethical review board of Wolkite University, institutional review board, with a protocol number of 0542/2024 and permission letters were obtained from each institution. Informed written and verbal consent from patients was obtained before data collection from each participant. For those participants who were unable to read and write, informed written and verbal consent was obtained from legal representatives such as attendants and close families. Respondents were ensured about the confidentiality of information obtained and the respondents did not ask to tell their names during data collection. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. Those patients with positive test results were directly linked to the treatment center by specifying the type of parasite they diagnosed and treated accordingly.
