Declarations
:
: The study adhered to the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Ostrava (project number: 823/2023). Written informed consent to participate was not required, as the study involved a retrospective analysis of samples obtained during the standard medical assessment of deceased organ donors. According to Czech legislation (Act No. 285/2002 Coll., the Transplantation Act), the Czech Republic operates under a presumed consent system, meaning that unless individuals have registered their objection during their lifetime, they are considered potential organ donors. Therefore, the requirement for informed consent was waived in accordance with national regulations.
