: This study received ethical approval from the Kenyatta University Ethics Committee (KUERC) under reference number PKU/2790/11915. Further approval was sought from the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) with license reference number NACOSTI/P/23/30057. All procedures involving human participants were conducted in accordance with the ethical standards of the Kenyatta University Ethics Committee (KUERC) and the standards of the Helsinki Declaration (2013). Written informed consent was obtained from all participants aged 18 years and above prior to sample collection. For participants aged 15–17 years, written assent was obtained in addition to parental or guardian consent in accordance with Kenyatta University’s ethical guidelines for research on minors. Participants were informed of the purpose, procedures, potential risks, and their right to withdraw from the study without penalty at any time.
