Ethical approval was obtained from the Aga Khan University Ethical Review Committee, East Africa (AKU-ERC, EA; Reference No. AKU/2023/024/fb/010/017). The study utilized routinely collected clinical data and laboratory results from specimens obtained during standard clinical care and posed minimal risk to participants.
