: This study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval was obtained from the Gabonese National Ethics Committee under the protocole number (PROT027/2022/CNE/SG/P). Patient confidentiality and anonymous were strictly maintained. Each patient record was assigned a unique identification number used throughout data entry and analysis. This study was conducted as part of surveillance activities led by the Department of Parasitology and Mycology in collaboration with the National Malaria Control Programme (MNCP). Administrative authorisations were obtained from the Director of Medical Affairs of the CHUME-FJE, the head of the paediatrics and intensive care units of CHUME-FJE prior to data collection. All participants parents or legal representative gave informed consent via a phone call for their children data use.
