: This study used anonymized administrative claims data from the InGef research database that fulfil all applicable requirements of data protection regulations in Germany. Consent to participate was not applicable because only fully anonymised secondary data were used. According to the Good Practice in Secondary Data Analysis, published by the Working Group for the Survey and Utilization of Secondary Data (AGENS) with representatives from the German Society for Social Medicine and Prevention (DGSMP) and the German Society for Epidemiology (DGEpi), no approval by an ethics committee or institutional review board is required for studies based exclusively on anonymised secondary data [ ].
