Ethical approval: This study was approved by the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Research Ethics Committee (IDI-REC-2023–67), which also granted a waiver of participant consent in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. The study was also approved by the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST - HS3690ES). No participants’ identification information was used to disseminate or publish the study results.
