: The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. It used secondary data collected as part of routine surveillance in response to Mpox outbreaks. Ethical approval was obtained from the national health ethics committee (CNES) of the Ministry of Public Health, Democratic Republic of Congo (Approval No. 785/CNES/BN/PMMF/2025). The Ethics Committee lifted the requirement for informed consent due to the retrospective nature of the study, the use of anonymised secondary data, and the lack of direct contact with participants, in accordance with current national regulations.
