: Approval for the study was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) – IRB-21-066 and Health Research Ethics Committee of the University of Cape Town, South Africa – HREC 176/2022. Study participants at enrolment into the ART clinic signed informed consent to document their preference concerning the use of their blood samples and data for research during the course of care offered in the clinic. Their responses however did not have any inclination towards the content and quality of care and treatment received in the clinic.
