: Yes, the study was approved by the Ethics committee of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi, Nigeria. It adhered to the ethical principles for medical research involving human participants of the declaration of Helsinki. All the participants provided signed and written informed consent. Subjects who were illiterate had study plans interpreted in their local languages (Tiv, Idoma, Igede, Hausa) before their signed consent was taken and included in the study. The anonymity of participants was guaranteed, and the statistical analysis was performed by a researcher blind to the experiment.
