Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The PCN Database has been reviewed and approved by the East of Scotland Research Ethics Service REC 2 (REC Ref.16/ES/0093). This approval covers generic approval for research projects that aim to establish of trends in clinical practice, service evaluation and retrospective cohort analysis, examining prediction and prevention of preterm birth. There may be occasions, however, when the Database Access Committee considers that a specific project application requires additional REC approval, and in these cases the applicant will be required to ensure that it is in place before the data will be released.
