Ethics approval and consent to participate
: As this study was not subject to the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (<i>Wet medisch- wetenschappelijk onderzoek met mensen</i>, identification number BWBR0009408; also known by its Dutch abbreviation <i>WMO</i>), according to Dutch law formal ethical assessment by an accredited Medical Research Ethics Committee was not required []. At the start of the survey, participants were informed about the research purpose. Completion of the survey was voluntary, therefore filling out the survey was considered as consent for participation. Photographs of the neonates that were used in the online survey were taken after obtaining written informed consent from the parents. Parents were aware that the photographs of their neonates were distributed via a questionnaire for maternity care professionals and that the photographs were used for research purposes.
