: All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations. The study did not require ethical clearance since the authors used already exiting secondary data from the DHS. However, the DHS reports that ethical clearance was obtained from the Institutional Review Board of ICF International and Ethical Review Committee of Ghana Health Service. Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) also anonymized all data before making them accessible to public. Permission to use the data was obtained from Measure DHS, which is a USAID–funded project that assists and fund population and health surveys in countries worldwide.
