: SafeMotherMedicine was approved by Norwegian Data Inspectorate in 2011, and use of the service is voluntary to the public. The service is confidential, meaning any personal information about the user is removed by staff at RELIS Vest before the questions are distributed according to a regional model. No data on the users of the service is recorded. Need for ethics approval by The Regional Committee for Medical Research Ethics Western Norway, REK West and consent to participate was deemed unnecessary due to the anonymous data material according to research guidelines at Haukeland University Hospital, Helse Bergen Health Authority, the Health Research Act and the Personal Data Act. The study was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
