: The current study analysed de-identified secondary data from the DHS. Therefore, no approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB) was required. However, the DHS programme received ethical approval from both the Inner City Fund IRB and the IRB of the host nation. The surveys are conducted in accordance with the principles and ethics of health research involving human subjects. You can find the rules for protecting the privacy of survey respondents and household members in all DHS surveys 0n the DHS website (ExternalRef removed). We had access to the raw datasets used in the current study after obtaining written approval from the DHS program through the ICF.
