: Data collection was initiated only after receiving the ethics approvals from the Institutional Ethics Committee of both the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi and the GTB hospital, Delhi. A participants’ information sheet containing details of the purposes and process of the study was shared with the potential participants. The participant’s information sheet was available both in English and Hindi. All the potential participants were encouraged to ask questions and clear doubts about the study before making any decision about participation. Written informed consent was secured from each participant before data collection. All the eligible participants were requested to put their signatures or thumb impressions in the paper consent form after allowing them enough time to understand the purposes and process of the study. In this study, no additional laboratory test was performed; we collected the required information from the maternal hospital records and through a face-to-face interview with the eligible participants as explained in the ‘’ section. We did not collect names or any personal identifiers of the participants. Participants were given unique serial numbers during data collection. The database was password protected and access to data was kept restricted only to those who were closely involved in data analysis.
