: All study procedures were approved by the Institutional Review Boards at the University of California, San Francisco (#19-27783) and the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI Non-SSC 666). All methods were performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to participation. Women aged 15–17 were considered mature minors (defined as those who are married, a mother, pregnant, or a household head) and consent was obtained equally as with those above age 18 in accordance with Kenya Medical Research Institute’s Standard Operating Procedure for General Requirements of Informed Consent and Documentation of Informed Consent (2017) and the Guidelines for Conducting Adolescent HIV/Sexual and Reproductive Health Research in Kenya (2015).
