: The Bandim Health Project has been commissioned and funded to implement projects to evaluate effects of the ‘Integrated Programme for the Reduction of Maternal and Child Mortality’ (PIMI) by the Delegation of the European Union to Guinea-Bissau.
: The authorship team includes six female and one male author with levels of seniority ranging from early career scholar to full professor. Two authors are Bissau-Guinean, five European, of whom three have been working in Guinea-Bissau. All authors have extensive experience from living and conducting research in low- and middle-income settings. The authors’ academic backgrounds are diverse and include public health, global health, psychology, nursing, and medicine including gynaecology and obstetrics.
