: This study involved the analysis of secondary data Demographic and Health Survey and Malaria Indicator Survey (DHS-MIS). As a result, no official ethical approval was needed. Permission to use the data for this particular research and publishing in peer reviewed journal was obtained from DHS measures. The procedures for collecting DHS-MIS data, however, were approved by the following organizations: Tanzania’s National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), the Zanzibar Medical Ethics and Research Committee (ZAMREC), International’s Institutional Review Board, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, United States of America (USA). The participants’ legal guardian/next of kin supplied written informed consent to participate in this study. All methods are carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulation.
