: Research approval for this study was obtained from the National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria (NHREC) (NHREC Protocol Number: NHREC/01/01/2007–05/02/2022; NHREC Approval Number: NHREC/01/01/2007–18/02/2022). Institutional Research Board approvals were also obtained from the three hospitals in Ghana: KBTH (Protocol Number: KBTH/STC/IRB/000196/2021), KATH (Protocol Number: RD/CR22/019) and TTH (Protocol Number: TTH/R&D/SR/078). All the participants were educated on the aims and objectives of the study and informed consent was obtained prior to recruitment. Informed consent was obtained from legally authorized representatives/guardians for study participation for illiterate participants.
