: This research project was approved by the research ethics committee of Bishop Stuart University and the administration of MRRH, FRRH and Kiryandongo General Hospital under registration number BSU-REC-2023- 144. The study was registered with the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST). All study participants provided written informed consent during the early latent phase of labor, ensuring they understood the study details and demonstrated the ability to make an informed and voluntary decision. All participants were aged 18 years or older and each provided consent personally. The research adhered strictly to ethical standards as outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki.
