: The MANGO study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki, and approved by the Moi University/Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Institutional Research and Ethics Committee in Kenya (#0004301) and the Indiana University Institutional Review Board in the United States (#16976). A research permit to conduct the study was also granted by the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) in Kenya (#NACOSTI/P/24/32597). Written informed consent was obtained from women approached to participate in C1 and for their infant’s participation in C3.
